A preliminary survey plan is available below following the archaeological work on the Taunton Road Development site; the blue shaded features are ditches and pits. As you can see, we recorded a large enclosure ditch and an intensive scattering of pits, as well as a few smaller ditches. Pottery sherds recovered from these features dated to the Bronze Age (i.e. 2400 BC – 700 BC).
The post-excavation analysis and reporting phase is now taking place, wherein the pottery, environmental samples, etc., from the site are looked at more closely to try to discern the function of the archaeological features. The end result will be a report on the excavation results. This process will take a number of months.

At Selectra one of our goals is to prepare everyone for the smart meter switch that, as I’m sure you are aware, the government is hoping to see through by 2020. We believe that the best way to prepare people is by helping them be better informed.
As this date is fast approaching we are asking councils to take the lead and help their communities be better informed about smart meters so that everyone can make the right decision.
