Cotford St Luke now has five representatives on the Parish Council so this should help to progress any issues which need sorting. We all look forward to having the roads finished and adopted by the council and for the village in general, to feel finished and tidy and not looking like a building site. The names, addresses and 'phone numbers of the Parish Councillors can be seen by looking on the village notice board or visit the Parish Council page.

June 2008

Here we are in the second half of the year. Where have all the weeks gone?
As mentioned in my March newsletter, due to my involvement with many other local things, I shall not be writing for the magazine any longer after the December issue. A volunteer is needed to take over from me, so if anyone is willing to continue writing a monthly newsletter please get in touch with me on 430374 and I’ll be pleased to offer any help or information I can.
Judging for the annual Best Front Garden Competition took place during the first half of July and the results will be announced at a Gardeners’ Evening to be held in September/October (date and time to be announced). The judges deserve medals for tramping around the village in such awful weather conditions!
We shall be holding a Coffee Morning on Friday 26th September from 10.30am to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Relief. We would like to invite our local friends and neighbours to join us in “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning”. There will be a bring and buy stall, cake stall and plant stall.
For more information please see our Social Events Notice Board which is on the wall outside the village shop.
There will be a Bistro Night on Friday 10th October with music by local band “The Valetones”. Tickets will be available from 430325 or 430374.
The Cotford St Luke Community Association will be holding its AGM on Thursday 2nd October at 7.30pm in the Community Centre. Jeremy Browne MP will be our Guest Speaker. He will then take questions along with our SCC, TDBC and Parish Councillors from the audience.
Mobile Library calls at the village every other Thursday and parks near the school between 2.00pm and 4.30pm. The next dates will be 14th and 28th August and 11th and 25th September.
The Farmers Market will be starting again after the summer break, on Saturday 6th September from 9.00am until 1.00pm in the Community Centre.
Police Beat Surgeries Every Thursday morning outside the local shop from 10.15am until 11.15am.
