The Housing Survey went well and we have a very comprehensive report for the Parish Council which we hope will open discussion on how to help the village become more energy efficient. The afternoon began with a service taken by Joan Smith accompanied by Rose Harrison, consisting of quiet reflection and celebration. This was followed with the exhortation given by Pam whitehead who is the County Chairman - we also congratulated her on receiving the MBE - then a short business meeting with reports from Wellington and Bishop Lydeard branches, Chairpersons, Gwen Saunders and Monica Summers.

Somerset Wildlife Trust has recently launched a project to provide a free barn owl box for every one of the 335 parishes in Somerset. With up to 80 per cent of barn owls now nesting in man-made boxes we need to get more boxes up across Somerset and provide more of the habitat barn owls need.

	<description>For members of Lydeard St Lawrence WI it was a continuation of an Oriental theme, with Japan in Winter in February and a walk along the Great Wall of China in March! President, Mrs Mary Abel, welcomed everyone and quickly and efficiently dealt with the business side of the meeting.
